The Swing Peepers, a vocal-harmony and multi-instrument duo, feature fun, earth-friendly and water-loving interactive songs and stories. The Swing Peepers perform lively and improvisational energetic World Folk. Instruments strummed, swung, and tapped include: guitars, mandolin, harmonica, accordion and egg-shaker. Many of their songs and stories are participatory.

Matthew Witten
Matthew performs original songs as well as sing- & move-alongs for all ages.  His original songs with poetic lyrics evoke strong imagery and are representative of a variety of musical styles and traditions including French, Eastern European, Celtic, and swing.  Matthew has a congenial stage presence and a clear voice accompanied by guitar, accordion, and banjo. Matthew and John Hadden recorded and co-produced “A Few Good Tools: Songs for the Earth,” a recording of environmental songs recently issued on compact disk.

Matthew has performed solo and with various other musicians over the past decade at festivals such as the Champlain Valley Festival, First Night Burlington, Lake Champlain Maritime Museum’s Kids’ Day, and the Hudson River Clearwater Pumpkin Sail, as well as in coffeehouses and schools in the Northeast. John Hadden
As a singer/songwriter and multi-intrumentalist, John has performed in a wide variety of musical groups ranging from classical choral, madrigal, barbershop, and stage groups, to folk, rock & roll, and contemporary a cappella bands. John received training in voice and music theory while in high school and at Middlebury College where he was the musical director of the Dissipated Eight, Middlebury's men’s a cappella group. John owns and operated Resting Lion Studio, a digital recording and graphic design studio located in Huntington, Vermont.

John plays several instruments including 12 & 6 string guitars, mandolin, and harmonica.  He has appeared on a variety of stages throughout his career including Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion", the Champlain Valley Folk Festival, Burlington & Montpelier Vermont First Nights, the Boston Regional Harmony Sweepstakes, and coffeehouses and festivals in New England.
